First Church of Christ, Scientist, Newcastle
Located in the heart of Newcastle, Australia, we are a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, USA. This Church was founded by Mary Baker Eddy, a deep thinker and lifelong Bible scholar who came to understand God as ever-present Love, loving each of us unconditionally.
She is the author of our textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which we study together with the Bible.
Our services and meetings are open to everyone.
Services
We have no preacher, so our services are conducted by the church members. The Sunday service includes hymns, a solo and the weekly Bible Lesson Sermon which consists of selections from the Bible and Science and Health.
As well as the Sunday service, we have Wednesday Meetings which include time for sharing testimonies of healing.
Join us to sing hymns and listen to readings that uplift and bring a sense of peace. We are open for everyone.Sunday Service: 10am – 11am *

Sunday School
In our Sunday School, students learn about their relationship to God and how to use this understanding in their everyday lives.
We cater for different age groups and welcome young adults up to 20 years.

Christian Science Reading Room
Our Reading Room is an ‘open door’ to the community providing access to publications about Christian Science.
Here, as well as being able to talk to the attendant you are welcome to purchase or borrow our resources and use the Reading Room as a place for study.
